HIKING MOUNT ANGSI, BUKIT PUTUS, KUALA PILAH

                                   WELCOME TO ANS TRJ BLOG

Greetings and Good Luck to Those Who Stop by My Blog.. Thank You👻♈.

This time I want to share my experience climbing Gunung Angsi which is located at Jalan Bukit Putus, Kuala Pilah. Jalan Bukit Putus is famous for paranormal exploration teams because of the appearance of creepy entities here. This blog post is not about the apparition of an entity but the experience of climbing Mount Angsi.

OK guys.. let's climb to the top... let's go!!! The spirit must be strong! 👻♈

On June 2nd, 2024, I actually didn't plan to climb Mount Angsi at all. At first, I wanted to go to Bukit Sikai in Kuala Pilah as well. I had never been to this place and wanted to try hiking there. I followed the entrance to Istana Menanti using Waze and then stopped at the place shown by Maps. I didn't believe it was the entrance because the entrance was filled with rows of ants (Kelingkiak) or Formosan termites that lined the entrance. Phew, if it bites, it's really sad... Cancelled hiking to Sikai due to obstacles. Maybe the maps are wrong or I don't know. Maybe next time.
Formoson termites can be your pets👻

My brain is stuck for a moment, I thought about stopping by Medan Selera Ulu Bendul, let's eat first 👻♈...
After eating and thinking, we arrived at the Landmark Gate of Istana Lama Seri Menanti. That's where the climb began. Register your name and pay RM5 per person.

The last time I climbed Mount Angsi was in 1995, but there were no gates or counters at that time. I once went down the mountain and came out near the Ulu Bendul waterfall, it was really nice at that time. I used to climb Mount Angsi just by running because the track was beautiful, it was really solid. But now the battery is a little weak huh👻. Now the new track requires climbing two steep iron stairs straight up. After that, the climb begins. Phew, it's as vertical as if you're going to the blue clouds... The height of Mount Angsi is 2707 feet, equivalent to 825 meters. I actually didn't think of climbing Mount Angsi, but it was destined that day that I climbed it anyway.

OK come on guys, don't waste time... let's go! 👻♈

This early trip started climbing a steep hill of 45 degrees upwards. I actually forgot this track because the starting point had changed. While climbing, I was starting to get tired... stopped for a moment... then continued on my way.. the ground of this track was split a lot due to water erosion from the hill.. a lot of energy was used to walk up... so throughout the climb we were tired because the ground was crooked, uneven, high and low, tree roots crawled on the track and there were fallen trees across the track, the most challenging thing was the slippery ground.        I walked carefully, if I didn't want to roll all the way home..
I only brought a small bottle of mineral water because I wanted to reduce my load. The water was almost gone. It had been an hour of travel, I felt like giving up. But I strengthened my spirit... Malaysia can do it!.. I felt my sweat dry, like there was no water in my body... my body was cold and my blood pressure was low. but because I had the intention of reaching the top, I forced myself to go while reading what was right to restore my spirit.
What I can't get angry about is, every time I meet a climber who is coming down... they must say that we only have a little more to go.. what I am also encouraged to continue.. it's been an hour and I still haven't reached it... they also give encouragement to other climbers.. many times I stop because I want to control my heart rate which is too fast... when my breath calms down, I continue the journey. ..                There are so many hills, this is the one worst so far... It's also hard to finish the climb. It's 2707 feet high... imagine that halfway through the journey I wanted to give up but I forced myself to continue to the top. It was as if I dragged myself to the top... huh, it was really bad. Plus, I was already out of water. Because I didn't want to give up, I just kept going.
My water ran out, I was dying of thirst. I had to hold my breath and finally managed to reach the top of Gunung Angsi. It had been more than two hours of climbing. It was raining heavily... I breathed a sigh of relief that I had reached the top before it started raining heavily. There was a gazebo there. After resting while enjoying the cool weather, a friend came and handed me a Kit Kat chocolate. Thank you, brother. I realized that he was from Selangor and he said he came alone because all his friends were busy. I chatted with him.

I was the one who was dying of thirst, embarrassed to ask for water. I went to get water from a leaf. My throat was wet. After a long rest, we all took selfies and started moving down the mountain. My friend earlier invited me to take another route but I parked my car at the entrance. If I took the other route, it meant that when I reached the foot of the mountain, I would have to walk back to the parking lot, it was too late this afternoon. So I had to decline his invitation. I knew he wanted to be friends but I couldn't join him.
The clock showed 4 pm.
When we were at the top, there were only six climbers. We went down as fast as we could, but we couldn't. The ground was winding, big trees crossed the path and the road was slippery... oh, it was a bit dangerous, afraid of slipping into the gorge later. When we came down, we had to hang on to tree trunks if we didn't want to slide down. Going down the mountain wasn't as tiring as climbing.            The distance was the same... more than 2 hours to reach the foot of the mountain. I started to get thirsty, the water had long run out. I remembered that on the way up, there was a water line from the mountain. It took more than an hour to go down before we found the water line. I drank as much as I could. I filled the small bottle with water. Thank God, I was relieved.                 The mountain water was really fresh and tasted good. We went down as fast as we could because we wanted to catch up on time, afraid of missing an important moment. By the time we got down, it was 6.20 pm.

Thank God we all reached the foot of the mountain safely. The mountain ranger asked me how many people were still on top, because he couldn't wait to go home. When I came down, there was an auntie resting in the middle of the hill. If she continued climbing until nightfall then she would return...be careful everyone on this mountain there are many entities...when climbing just now I smelled a nice smell but pretended not to know.
Everyone has returned now because it's very late.
There are public toilets here but even going into the toilet is scary👻. There are no roadside vendors either.
That's how my climb to Gunung Angsi this time.

I will share my experience on another blog.
- Thank you 👻♈ -
