JERAM BERUNGUT, KENABOI WILD PARK

Greetings and Good Luck to Everyone Who Stopped by the ANS TRJ Blog, Thank You.

This time I want to share the story of trekking through the rapids to reach Jeram Berungut in the Kenaboi Wilderness Park area.

I came here for the 3rd time and this time I wanted to go to Jeram Berungut. I fell in love with this place. I felt safe and comfortable in this forest. This time we went as a group of four.

Come with me to wade through the river to Jeram Berungut. Let's go.

240525-250525
We arrived here late in the evening and planned to wade the river to Jeram Berungut tomorrow morning.

After Subuh, I prepare the easiest breakfast, which is Maggi "Quick to cook, quick to eat"😘.
  Must have food when camping.

After eating, we got ready and covered the tent with canvas.

We keep important items in the car and trust that everything will be safe.
We started the journey at 8.50am. The four of us went down to the river and started walking against the current to our destination this time, Jeram Berungut.
When we entered the river, we met Kenaboi Forest Ranger, Mr. Tom, who took the Hilux across the river to the other side of the road. We told him we would be crossing the river to Jeram Berungut. Usually, if there is a group activity, they come with a guide complete with life jackets, but the four of us did not have any safety features and if anything happened, it was our own responsibility. I really like challenging activities and if we feel safe, we will go on our own without a guide. For group activities, certified guides are available and packages can be requested from the Kenaboi Wild Park Administration Division.

We would choose to walk along the riverbank if the water in the area was fast. The river water was shallow and even though it was only waist-high, there were areas where the water was fast making it difficult for us to walk.

The river crossing challenge was my first time. It wasn't too difficult but it was dangerous if we weren't careful. For example, there were slippery rocks that we shouldn't step on because they would cause us to fall and get injured or sprained. That happened to one of us. In this river, there were too many small rocks, big rocks, mossy rocks and sharp rocks. It was actually difficult to walk properly if there were so many rocks in the river. We also climbed tree trunks on the river bank because the rapids there were too fast and dangerous to pass. There were many trees that had fallen and blocked the river bank. In this situation, I'm not sure if there had ever been a 'water head' here or trees falling from the river bank.
On the way, we came across a very large rock. We wanted to climb the rock but couldn't because it was too slippery and dangerous. So we just canceled our intention to take pictures on the rock. If we want to do something, we have to do some research or think first before anything unwanted happens. Make sure our trip is safe. Don't have too much fun in the forest or river because this is also where supernatural creatures live that we cannot see except for people who have the advantage of seeing the other world from the "Open Hijab View"
This is the real hiker style 😂💪

It was fun wading through the river and when we got back we planned to take a bath in a suitable spot. This morning there was no one along the river except the four of us.

In the video above, you can see the situation along the riverbank there. There were many fallen trees on the riverbank.

We had to climb over fallen trees to avoid the rushing water.

About 1 and a half hours into the journey, we arrived at a corner of the rapids before reaching the wall of Jeram Berungut.

There were fallen trees here blocking the river. The water is too strong. Finally, we had to cross a rapid that was so fast that I couldn't move on my own without the help of others. At that time, I felt dizzy because the rushing water pushed me back and I had to hold on. Finally, we all managed to pass the last rapid area.

Everyone clung to each other to get out of the rapids. Alhamdulillah, everyone managed to escape the pressure of the water and step into the Berungut Rapids wall area.

There are high wall-like stone walls on the left and right of the rapids. It is unique like a river rock cave. We did not go inside because we were not brave with the water which looked deep and scary. Besides, we did not wear life jackets and did not know what was inside because the situation looked gloomy. So we just arrived here and took pictures before returning to the campsite.
So this mission was successful and there are many other places that we have to fulfill in the future, InsyaAllah.
We turned back to the campsite and halfway through we stopped to swim at a suitable spot.
Wow, it was fun to bathe without being crowded. The water was a bit fast and you really couldn't swim in the opposite direction, it didn't move at all haha. After we were satisfied with bathing there, we moved back and safely arrived at the campsite.
Alhamdulillah, the trip through the rapids was fun. You can also try this activity with a group and be careful with every step you take. Don't get wet and talk nonsense.
That's all for this sharing and we'll see you in the next blog. If it's useful, please share it with your friends or family. Welcome to Kenaboi Wild Park, it's the best. Wasallam.
